The project behind Veritas – which is latin for “Truth” – was born out of a very simple idea: bringing the true taste of rum back to the mixology world. It is the innovative result of the collaboration between two of the Caribbean's most iconic producers: Foursquare Distillery in Barbados and Hampden Estate in Jamaica, brought together by Luca Gargano of Velier.

Veritas is a blend of three different rums, coming from two different islands, made with one single objective in mind: bringing back the true taste of rum to mixology. Assembled by Foursquare’s Master Distiller Richard Seale, it is composed of:

- Coffey column Still rum from Foursquare Distillery in Barbados, unaged.

- Pot Still rum from Foursquare Distillery in Barbados, aged for 2 years in ex- Bourbon barrels.

- Pot Still rum from Hampden Estate in Jamaica, unaged. All the components entering the blend have been distilled, matured, blended and bottled in the Caribbean, with no sugar, flavouring agents or neutral spirits added. The final ABV reaches 47%, for a fuller bodied rum.

Nose: Expressive, with aromas of licorice, candy and violet flower, Caribbean almond, fruity notes of yellow tomato and a hint of very ripe banana.

Palate: Exotic, but also spicy, with a slight sensation of astringency. It shows light notes of wood, vanilla, caramel, crème brûlée with passion fruit. Good texture given by the pot still rums part of the blend.

Finish: Clean, dry and mineral, with notes of banana leaf, salted butter, white chocolate and fermented cane juice.
